The Painted Desert, Northern Arizona
Many of these photos were taken in obscure parts of the Navajo Reservation,
just north of the Little Colorado River, not far from the community of Cameron.
Other photos were taken at Petrified Forest National Park, which includes a large
portion of the Painted Desert. Finally, eight of these photos were taken in the so-called
Little Painted Desert, an area northeast of Winslow that exists on what is now an
abandoned Navajo County park and also crosses over to the Navajo Nation.
