This photo was taken atop San Jacinto Peak in California, looking off into the distance, to the east (you know all those windmills you see on the way to L.A.? Those windmills are at the foot of the San Jacinto Mts.). From the town of Idyllwild, I hiked about 8 miles to reach the peak, but if you're a wimp you can take a tram up the other side of the mountain.
