Aravaipa Canyon, Arizona
Aravaipa Canyon (and Aravaipa Creek) is a beautifully pristine preserve
on the edge of the Galiuro Mts. in southern Arizona. The area is
designated
as wilderness and managed by the BLM, which also provides hiking permits.
These photos were taken along the first four miles of Aravaipa Creek upstream
from the west trailhead. The canyon is also teaming with wildlife, from deer and
birds to black bears and rattlesnakes. As a photographer I focus on landscapes,
not animals, but when critters pass right in front of me I'll certainly snap a shot.
